This is a reduction lino print. During the process of creating a print by this method, the lino is progressively destroyed (the lightest colour is printed first, then sections of the lino are removed to preserve this first colour and the second lightest colour is printed. This process of cutting and printing is repeated until the print is finished - after which, it is impossible to print from the block or blocks, because the print area has been progressively 'reduced' - or destroyed!).

This little print was printed in four stages, although there are actually six colours (it was possible to print two colours during two of the printing stages).
